For all you math and physics geeks .... as my husband says, "Life is physics."

Check This Out ... Watch 32 discordant metronomes achieve synchrony in a matter of minutes. I guess this is why we use digital metronomes!

  1. This is one of the most amazing things (conservation of energy) about Mother Nature; maybe one proof of God. Systems which vibrate at the same (or nearly the same) frequency have a tendency to fall into ‘lock step’ with one another. That’s called rhythmic entrainment. Fireflies on a summer night will end up flashing as one. Oscillators in electrical components with the same frequency will try to vibrate together (messing up the circuit); they must be shielded from each other so they will function independently. This is a remarkable subject to study. Read great stuff about it in "Stalking the Wild Pendulum" by Itzhak Bentov. A book for every bookshelf.
